669,244. Clothes driers. PILKINGTON, G. H. June 23, 1950. No. 15726/50. Class 52 (v). A radiating arm type of clothes drier in which the frame is raised and lowered by hydraulic means comprises a cylinder 1 bolted to the ground and an inner ram 11, escape of water between the cylinder and the ram being prevented by a gland 12. A chain 15 to limit the upward movement of the ram is connected between the foot of the ram and the base of the cylinder 1. An inlet tap 8 and outlet tap 10 control the flow of water. The ram 11 is formed with an upper flange 11a having a: groove 11b for ball bearings 17 on which a bearing flange 19 of the clothes line framework rests.
