Abstract

666,261. Dynamo electric machines. MILLER & CO., Ltd., H., and MEADOWS, W. March 20, 1950 [Feb. 18, 1949], No. 4417/49. Class 35. The outer laminµ 8 of the stator poles 6, 7 of a cycle dynamo tend to spring outwards and have ears 11 which, when the outer laminae are compressed inwardly by forcing on the outer casing 1, engage ribbed flanges 18 on the rotor carrying top member 3, thus securing the assembly. The cross-section of the stator laminae, which are spot-welded together, is increased at the part 9 passing through the coil by an insert 10 or by folding the laminae. Depending from the ends of a coil are a pair of metal plates 14, which may be in the form of a U-shaped stirrup passing through the coil, and which carry a bridge-piece 15 in which an insulated stud 16 is fixed. This stud serves both as the output terminal of the dynamo and as securing bolt for the cover 1.
