665,767. Bakers' &c. oven. VICARS, Ltd., T. & T., and NAYLOR, J. F. April 25, 1950 [April 28, 1949], No. 11279/49. Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii). In a closed circulatory heating system for bakers' and other ovens in which gaseous heating medium flows through ducts provided at intervals with enlarged portions accommodating heating means a shield of heat resisting material is supported between each of said heating means and the oncoming gaseous heating medium. As shown, such a system is provided in a long bakers' oven 11 through which ware passes on an endless conveyer 12. The heating medium, circulated by the fan 16, passes through ducts 14, 15, each of which is comprised of a plurality of cast sections, small gaps being left between the sections for expansion purposes. At each enlarged portion 19 of the ducting 14, 15, heating means comprising burner block and nozzle 22, 24 are provided ejecting hot gases transversely of the ducting. Between the heating means and the oncoming heat carrying medium is disposed a shield 30 semi-circular in cross-section and secured to the duct walls by bolts 31. Ribs 30a are provided on the convex face of the shield which instead of being semicircular may be of any suitable shape such as is shown in Figs. 5-7.
