662,765. Machines with permanent magnets. GAYLER, G. A., and WIPAX DEVELOPMENT, Ltd. Jan. 5, 1950 [Jan. 12, 1949], No. 895/49. Class 35. A motor generator or ignition magneto has a stator 10 provided with a cylindrical tunnel 13 to accommodate a permanent magnet rotor and also to serve as a bearing housing 28 at one of its ends, so that the tunnel accommodating the rotor and the bearing housing 28 has an uninterrupted, uniform cylindrical wall. The laminated iron core which forms part of the stator has pole pieces 12 forming parts of the peripheral wall of the stator tunnel 13 while the remaining peripheral wall is completed by parts 27, 21 of the die-cast body. The rotor consists of a tubular-shaped permanent magnet 34 cast in a rotor body 35 and having two diametrically-opposed pole pieces 33.
