Abstract
661,334. Suitcase handles. CHENEY & SON, Ltd., C. W., and CHENEY, C. W. July 4, 1950 [July 5, 1949], No. 17681/49. Class 133 Two-piece attachment brackets for a suitcase handle comprise a plate 1 having pierced slots 1c, 1c, forced outwardly to provide boundary projections 1d to each slot and a U-shaped lug 2 which is rigidly attached to the plate 1 by passing the limbs 2b through the slots which they engage tightly and then forcing back the projections 1d partly into the slots and hard against the limbs 2b. The plate 1 has a boundary flange 1a for strength and rivet holes 1b and the U-shaped lug is dished at 2d and has end extensions fitting tightly between the flange 1a transversely. The carrying handle is attached to the limbs 2b by a hinge pin passing through opposite holes 3 and a hole in the handle end.
