Abstract

296,190. Cheney, C. W. Aug. 6, 1927. Hasp fastenings; stud fastenings. - A fastenings part is secured to the material of a bag, purse, or the like by prongs on a member mounted on a base plate which pass freely through holes in the base plate and are then clinched down, the base plate being without attachment prongs. For example, a circular stud, adapted to be engaged by a hole in a hasp, is formed with prongs which pass through a plate on which the stud is mounted and through the material of the, bag where they are clinched down. A housing for a hinged carrying handle is similarly mounted The Figure shows a hasp e hinged at e<2> in a spring containing box c which is formed with prongs c<4> extending through holes in the base plate a on which it is mounted; the box c may have additional ears c<5> whereby it is secured to the base plate a. The box c also has a housing c<2> for the end of a hinged carrying handle.
