Abstract

661,017. Valve discharge water waste preventers. EVES, S. F. Oct. 15, 1948 [Feb. 1, 1945, May 8, 1945], Nos. 26868/48 and 26869/48. Class 26 [Also in Group XXIX] A cistern discharge valve 12, Fig. 1, suspended from one end of a lever 18 is opened by operation of a cam 22 which rocks the lever and is held open by engagement of a suction cup 21 with a flat plate 17, the valve closing after an interval as water or air leaks into the cup through a small channel in the face of the plate 17. In a modification, a weighted arm 24, Fig. 4, carries the flat plate which is raised by operation of a handle 23 to engage the suction cup and then released, so that the weight pulls down the cup to open the valve which subsequently closes after leakage of water or air into the cup.
