Classes 80 (ii) and 80 (iii) Control means for a motor-cycle change-speed gear comprises a gear-change cam a which is rotated in steps by means of a double-armed pawl m coacting with projections g at one end of the cam, the pawl being mounted loosely on a spindle h to which a foot lever i is secured. The pawl, which is pressed axially by a spring p, has projections n, o engaging slots in a collar j formed on the spindle h so as to rotate therewith, while leaving the pawl free to rock sideways in riding over the projections g when returning to central position under the action of a U-spring t. The cam a is held against accidental movement by a spring-pressed detent d.
