Abstract

886,262. Change-speed control. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. Feb. 9, 1960 [Feb. 12, 1959], No. 4565/60. Class 80 (2). In an hydraulic change-speed mechanism repeated clockwise or anticlockwise, movements of a selector lever 15 acting through ratchet pawls 13, 13<SP>1</SP> move the control valve 20 step by step to left or right for successive up or down shifts. The valve spindle 19 has pawl notches 21 and is mounted in a sleeve 12 formed with apertures 24, 25, through which the pawls 13, 13<SP>1</SP> protrude, and separated by a solid web portion 26. Upon rotating lever 15, e.g. clockwise, pawl 13 moves valve 20 to the left, web 26 raising pawl 13<SP>1</SP> against its loading-spring; at the end of the movement a ball detent 27 locks the valve in position and lever 15 is re-centred by a spring 17.
