Abstract
659,950. Treating grain. LINDNER, P. May 17, 1949, No. 13135. Convention date, June 7, 1948. [Class 58] In a machine for husking cereal grains in which the curved inner surface of a cylindrical casing 1 is provided, excepting at the inlet 12 and outlet 13, with a series of baffles 2, 3 in opposition to beaters 6 arranged on a drum 8 rotating inside the said casing, compressed air is introduced into the husking space through the inlet 12 and a partition 14 extending over the whole width of the drum is provided behind the combined outlet for husked material and air to form the closure of the husking space whereby the husked material and air are constrained to leave this space. The grain is fed via a distributer 10 and a duct 9 into the compressed air stream entering at 11. The duct 15 on the exit 13 is provided with a throttling arrangement 16 to control the discharge of the air.
