[Class 78 (v)] A wagon-hauling apparatus comprises a winch drum a for a haulage cable to be attached to a wagon on a rail track leading to the apparatus, and a detent-held ratchet wheel e mechanically connected to the winch drum and engaged by a pawl g on a lever arm connected to and rocked by a fluid pressureoperated piston and cylinder for step-by-step rotation of the winch drum. As shown, winch drum a, which pulls a wagon step-bystep along rails into a filling position, is fixed on spindle b mounted in dead eye bearings c on frame d and is operatively driven by fluidpiston l, which operates through connecting- rod k and lever i pivoted on spindle b to reciprocate pawl and to engage the latter with ratchet e so as to rotate the arm step-by-step. Detent g prevents back movement.
