Abstract

951,286. Silage. LODDON ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. April 2, 1962, No 12619/62. Addition to 906,987. Heading A1F. Mechanism for operating the dispensing apparatus and agitator device of the apparatus for producing silage disclosed in the parent Specification comprises two ratchet wheels, one wheel 1 being mounted on the shaft 2 carrying the agitating device 3 and the other wheel 5 being mounted on the spindle of the metering valve. A first bell crank lever 9 is pivotally secured to the casing of the apparatus, one arm 15 of the lever being connected to drive means 16 and the other arm 17 being coupled to a second bell crank lever 13 carrying two pawls 20, 24 for engagement with the ratchet wheels. Spring means 22, 31 are provided to return the lever 13 to its initial position when the first lever 9 is operated to advance the ratchet wheels and non reversing pawls are provided to prevent reversal of the ratchet wheels during return movement of the lever 13.
