797,429. Winch brakes. A.C.E. MACHINERY, Ltd. Jan. 30, 1956 [Feb. 9, 1955], No. 3908/55. Class 78 (5). [Also in Group XXXIV] Winch drum 5 is driven from motor 1 through gearing 3 and friction drive 2, the drum being mounted in eccentric bearings, and the drum in turn drives hydraulic pump 9 in an hydraulic circuit furnished with oil reservoir 7 and one-way valve 11, so that the latter causes the drum to be braked when the hoist controlled by the drum descends. Specification 637,123 is referred to.
