Abstract

654,636. Diaphragm pumps. ETABLISSEMENTS A. GUIOT, SOC. ANON. Dec. 12, 1946, No. 36634. Convention date, Dec. 19, 1945. [Class 102(i)] In a diaphragm pump, the pumping diaphragm g is actuated by a red f engaging an axially acting cam and suction and delivery valves o, r respectively are provided. An auxially suction valve k is actuated by a spring-loaded diaphragm h and the pressure of the liquid passing the delivery valve r acts through passage y to raise the diaphragm h and opens the valve k during the discharge stroke of the diaphragm g to admit liquid to the chamber n that is subsequently drawn through valve o in the next suction stroke of the pump. The delivery passage p is connected by a passage x to a spring-loaded diaphragm v carrying a valve so that when the delivery pressure exceeds a predetermined value, the valve allows byepass to the chamber n. The pump is used for supplying liquid to de-ice aircraft propellers.
