652,551. Road-traffic signs. EMMERSON, T. H. R. Sept. 3, 1948, No. 23255. [Class 3(ii)] A movable and transportable road sign comprises a bracket 10 removably mounted on a base 13 by means of a tube 12, a signboard 15 being removably mounted on the bracket which has a socket 11 fitting on the top of the tube 12. Apertured lugs 18 protrude from the socket 11 to support lamps for lighting the signboard or the road and the part to which the signboard 15 is secured may be similarly apertured. The signboard is bolted to the bracket and fits into a socket or is secured to a single upstanding plate. In an alternative construction the top of the bracket is flat and a box sign is supported on the platform so formed. Reflectors may be attached to any part of the closure. The sign may be on detachable sheets attached to the signboard 15.
