650,153. Disconnectible couplings. WESTLAND AIRCRAFT, Ltd., GRAY, R. W., and STONE, J. N. Sept. 16, 1948, No: 24373. [Class 99(i)] In a detachable coupling for members such as a spigot 11 and socket 2, one of the members 11, as shown, has a series of holes containing balls 9 which are adapted to be outwardly thrust by rotation of a cam-ring 10 mounted on the member 11 and carried by a sleeve 14 into locking engagement with an internal annular groove 5 in the member 2 or an associated part, if such is provided, a self-sealing washer 7 providing an air-tight connection.
