Abstract
641,329. Pipe couplings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and FAULKNER, A. June 19, 1948. No. 16519. [Class 99(i)] Limited relative rotary movement between two bored rigid members 1, 2 each adapted to be connected to a pipe, is permitted by a sealing member 10 of rubber composition, natural or synthetic bonded to the members and surrounding an axial sleeve 5 of member 1, the sleeve being rotatably engaged in member 2. The members may have opposing frusto-conical faces 3, the sleeve may fit slidingly in the enlarged bore 6 of member 2 and a metal cover 14 with inwardly curved edges 15 engaging rims 13 of the members may surround member 10. Both members 1, 2 may be provided with axially extending sleeves rotatably fitting one within the other.
