Abstract
648,168. Walls. CRUDEN, H. Dec. 9, 1948, No. 31845. [Class 20(iv)] In brick or block walls which are provided at intervals with horizontal courses of nailable material to which internal lining boards can be secured, the courses are of nailable concrete and protrude slightly from the inner surface of the wall, vertical strips of hair plaster or the like being applied between the courses where the joints in the lining boards will occur. In the form shown, the top and bottom courses 11 and spaced intermediate courses 11a of a brick wall 10 are made of breeze concrete or the like and protrude about “ inch from the surface. Vertical strips 12 of hair plaster “ inch thick are applied between the courses 11 and 11a to provide a bearing surface for the joints 13 of lining boards 14, which are nailed to the courses. Asphalt or other adhesive may be provided between strips 12 and the lining boards.
