Classes 20(iv) and 87(i) [Also in Group XV] A building block 2 comprises three substantially rectangular plates 4; 5 disposed in parallel spaced relation, the middle one 5 being displaced relatively to the outer ones 4 and being connected thereto by inclined webs 8. In modified constructions, the webs 8 extend from the upper edges of the outer. plates 4 to the upper edge or to the centre of the middle plate or one may .extend to the upper and the other to the lower edge thereof. The blocks may be provided with drip-edges 9, mortar grooves in the end faces and pointing grooves 17 in their edges. In a wall construction, U- shaped coping blocks 3 and T-shaped base blocks. 1 are employed. A modified wall construction, Fig. 7, includes Z-shaped blocks 14 in addition to standard blocks 13 and compound coping blocks 16. An arch formed of curved blocks includes an H- shaped key-stone.
