644,099. Roofs. OLIVE, R. S. Jan. 19, 1948, No. 1612. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A roof is formed of tiles of rectangular shape and of decreasing thickness along their longitudinal direction. A wing 13 is provided at the thickest end of each tile which overlaps the thinnest end of the next lower tile so that the undersurface of the roof is all in one plane. Flanges 4 extend along the lateral edges of the tiles, including the wings, and the contiguous flanges of adjacent tiles are covered by an inverted substantially U-shaped member which may be a separate member or may be formed as part of one of the flanges; several forms of such members and of securing means therefor are described. At each corner of the tile a recess 14 is formed; when the tiles are assembled the four adjacent recesses of four tiles form a complete rectangular recess into which a plate forming part of the securing means fits.
