Abstract

The block has a layer of heat-insulating material running continuously between top and bottom and end faces. On the lower face (6) there are supporting strips (8) running parallel with the wall, of the same material as the block and integral with it. These extend for the entire block length and at a constant height. They can be milled flat on their lower faces, and extend beyond the lower face for the desired thickness of mortar to be used. The design allows very accurate laying, apart from which no mortar appears at the joins afterwards.
