648,026. Induction furnaces. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. Nov. 9, 1948, No. 29057. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1947. [Class 39(iii)] A number of electrically conducting units 5 are surrounded by an inductor winding 1 having an iron shell 2, and a further inductor winding 3, having an iron core 4 not forming a part of a closed iron circuit, is surrounded thereby. The units 5 may comprise electrically conducting crucibles with a conducting or non-conducting content, or non-conducting crucibles with a conducting content, or electrically conducting rods. The furnace may be of oblong or polygonal section, and the windings 1 and 3, which are connected in series, may each be in parallel with an inductance or a condenser.
