Abstract

647,665. Aerials. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. March 16, 1948, No. 7910. [Class 40 (vii)] An aircraft aerial, adapted to receive or radiate most strongly in a forward looking direction is mounted on the surface of, or in the material of, the windscreen of an aircraft in such a manner as not to interfere seriously with vision. The Figure shows an end-fed aerial mounted symmetrically on each side of a glazing bar B and comprising a plurality of wires A which are fine enough not to interfere with vision. The conductors of an aerial in accordance with the invention may also carry low-frequency or direct heating current for windscreen de-frosting purposes.
