Abstract

647,304. Seed distributers. KEEN, D. S. J. May 25, 1948, No. 14060. [Class 6(i)] A seed - sower comprises a hopper 1 mounted on wheels 13, the axle 2 of which passes through the hopper and carries a rotary agitator 5 comprising square pieces of leather which sweep the seeds through a hole 4 in the curved hopper base 3 adjustably closed by a slide 8. The wall of the hopper is extended downwardly to form a seed-passage 10 of V-shaped cross-section, and carries an adjustable coulter 11 of similar cross-section at its lower end. The upper side-walls of the hopper are rolled over at 17 to receive a bifurcated handle 15 on which is mounted a marker arm (Fig. 5, not shown).
