Abstract

652,185. Agricultural implement. IRWIN, R. W., and TURNER, H. M. July 14, 1948, No. 18867. [Class 6(i)] Apparatus for sowing potatoes in previously ridged ground comprises grubber teeth 20, mounted on shoots 18, for furrowing the top of the ridges and transversely adjustable ridging ploughs 13 for reforming the ridges to their original shape. Operators standing on a platform 21 feed the seed from a hopper 17 to the shoots 18. Timing gear is provided comprising a trailing wheel 25 having projections 27 which co-operate with an arm 31 which strikes a bell 30. The shoots 18 are adjustable vertically and transversely and the machine may be used to form the original ridges by raising the shoots 18 clear of the ground. The machine is connected to a tractor by means of the frame 22.
