Abstract

645,293. Stoppers. GLASS WHOLESALE SUPPLIES, Ltd., and MYERS, C. C. T. March 12, 1948, No. 7620. [Class 125 (iii)] A closure of metal or synthetic resinous material for insertion in bottles by an axially sliding movement has a skirt portion 3 slotted or weakened longitudinally at 4 whereby variations in the dimensions of the neck of the container may be accommodated. The stopper head is formed as a disc 1, the shoulder 1a of which seats upon the neck of the container. The edge 2 of the disc 1 may be roughened. The ends 3a of the tongues 3 are splayed to obtain the desired frictional grip with the walls of the container. The slots 4 may terminate in circular shaped enlargements 5.
