[Class 35] The field winding of a machine is fed from an exciter having a negative component of excitation derived from resistance and inductance connected across the first mentioned field winding. As shown, the field 11 of a Ward- Leonard motor 10 is fed from a constant voltage source 6 with a bucking exciter 30 in series and the sub-exciter 40 of the latter has a winding 41 differentially excited from potentiometer 42 and resistance 12 connected across winding 11. Specification 644,867 is referred to.
