Abstract
643,711. Yarn package supports. FONDERIE DE PRECISION. Oct. 9, 1945, No. 26369. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1942. [Class 120(ii)] An adjustable support for a yarn package is characterized by the combination, with a base 3, of at least two arms 1 movably mounted on the base by means which allow for the adjustment of their radial position by simultaneously adjusting the supporting means 1k of the arms. each arm 1 being pivoted at its lower end at 6b on the supporting means 1k and resiliently urged, as by a spring 7, so that each arm 1 will independently adjust itself to the obliquity of the inner surface of the package carried by the support. The arm supports 1k which are guided in runways 20 are moved simultaneously by identical cams 22a on a plate 21, the position of adjustment being retained by the co-operation of a spring-pressed ball 52 and notches 54. Each arm may be provided with a shoe portion 56 provided with undulations on its upper surface. In the modification of Fig. 6, the unwinding of the yarn is facilitated by a roller 32a freely mounted on an arm 32, a brake 35 adjustable by a screw 37 providing the necessary yarn tension. Instead of the roller 32a, a grooved roller which is rotatable and reciprocable on the arm 32, may be provided.
