643,314. Liquid-fuel burners. PIETRI, F. Aug. 10, 1948, No. 21040. Convention date, Aug. 13, 1947. [Class 75(i)] A fuel oil burner of the kind comprising a stationary fuel oil-feeding pipe 6 having at one end a stationary radially-discharging nozzle and a fixed or rotatable fuel distributing member, e.g. a cylinder 10, thereon, a rotatable cylindrical atomizing cap 13 arranged about the member 10 to form an annular fuel outlet opening 18 therewith, an open-ended tubular casing 1 disposed about the cap 13, and external helicoidal blades 16 carried on the outer periphery of the atomizing cup 13 for driving air axially through the casing 1, is characterized in that the casing 1 has on its internal wall a plurality of stationary blades 17 adjacent to and coacting with the rotary blades on the cup 13. The cup 13 is integral with a sleeve 12 on the pipe 6 and is rotated by a pulley or gear wheel 15 and associated driving means.
