Abstract

643,135. Typewriters &c. LAMSON PARAGON SUPPLY CO., Ltd., and MERRITT, J.H. July 16, 1948, No. 19168. [Class 100 (iv)] An attachment for typewriters and like recording apparatus used in feeding continuous superposed webs from a folded pack into a typewriter or the like has a pack tray 7 provided with a back 10 to which is pivoted a forwardly extending apron 13 and a pair of pivotally adjustable arms 22-24 provided at each end for securing the attachment to the carriage of the apparatus, each arm 22 being so mounted that it can be. turned about its horizontal axis, moved transversely closer to or farther from the back 10 and also raised and lowered relatively to the top of the back 10 to adjust the attachment for differing sized machines. The tray 7 is mounted on a trackway 5 so it can move with the carriage and at the top of the back portion 10 is a rod 12 having reduced end pieces about which pivot collars 14 forming the hinge of the apron 13. The end pieces also pivotally carry collar 23, Fig. 3, through each of which passes an arm 24 adjustably fixed by a screw 25. A U-shaped bracket 26 is fitted over the end of the arm and has holes in the sides thereof adapted to register with a hole in the end of each arm 24 and with a tubular spacing rod 27 so that a spindle 28 upon which the arm 22 is mounted can pass through the holes into the tube. The arms 22 which, as shown, are forked to engage the typewriter tray 21, are slid transversely to accommodate the width of the typewriter carriage and are locked in position by screws 28a.
