A carbon - sheet holder such as a trolley 24 runs on a horizontal cantilever 19 having a vertical extension 12 which travels on rails 10, 11 on a tray or the like 4 adapted to receive a typewriting- machine 5. The carbon sheets are interleaved with webs coming from a pack 49 which is not supported by the carrier. The preferred construction comprises also the following features:- The carrier has converging legs 12 provided at the top and bottom with two pairs of rollers 13, 14 and a single roller 15 for engaging the rails 10, 11 respectively. On release of a pivoted catch 18, the carrier can be removed. The carrier is coupled to the platen-carriage 50 by means of a spring- urged bail 33 which abuts on pins 36 on brackets 37 clamped to the tabulating-stop bar 40. The trolley 24 is manipulated by a knob 29 on a rod 27 which is adjustably secured by a screw 24a to the trolley and is provided with index marks. Forward movement of the trolley 1 is limited by means of an adjustable stop 31 on the rod and a co-operating stop 28. A rubber stop 30 co-operates with the end of the rod to limit rearward movement. To facilitate assembly of the carbon sheets and the webs, a pivoted bar 51 is swung forwards and the webs are gripped in a clip 53 thereon. The bar may be replaced by a slide. A tear-off blade 42 is secured at each side to an arm 43 pivoted to the tray and connected to a stay 45 also pivoted to the tray 41 the arm and tray being formed with series of holes for varying the pivot-points and thereby adjusting the height of the blade.
