A manifolding attachment for a typewriter or like machine, of the kind including a frame 6, Figs. 1 and 4, carrying at-opposite ends sprocket wheels 18, 10 over which pass endless chains 11 to which are attached a carbon transfer sheet holder 12 and a web aligning device, the frame being supported on a carriage 13 mounted on a base or tray 20 on which the typewriter rests, comprises adjustable means at each side for detachably connecting it to the typewriter carriage, each said means comprising an arm 31 pivotally mounted on and laterally adjustable towards or away from the sides of the frame, the arm having an extension 33 pivotally and slidably adjustable thereon to enable the free end of the extension to be adjusted into various positions for engagement with part of the typewriter carriage. The supporting carriage 13 runs on rollers 15 along tracks 14 on a second frame comprising posts 17 adjustably secured in sockets 18 of the tray 20, the travel of the carriage being limited by stops 34a engaging a stop 35 on the lower track 14, the latter stop being retractable to allow removal of the carriage. The carriage includes two uprights 23 to which are pivoted angle brackets 21 secured to the frame 6, which can thus be swung backwardly clear of the typewriter when not required. When in use, a hook 25 engages a stop 24 to prevent backward swinging. Each arm 31 has an integral rod slidable in an end of a sleeve 27 on the frame, and secured in the sleeve by a wing-nut 30 for lateral adjustment. Each extension 33 and arm 31 is slotted, and secured together by a wing-nut 34. Specification 618,442 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers to Specification 432,804. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
