Abstract

782,621. Typewriters. LAMSON PARAGON, Ltd. Dec. 15, 1955, No. 36073/55. Class 100(4) A stationary supporting and guiding device having a frame coupled to the carriage of a typewriter, &c. having rollers or other tractor members which travel along a horizontal track, is supported by apparatus which comprises a rod 13 serving as the horizontal track and adjustably mounted on arms pivotally mounted on a tray 1 in which seats the typewriter. The rod 13 may be U-shaped with its limbs having indicator marks 16 sliding in tubes 12 attached to sectors 7 pivoted at 8. Alternatively the tubes 12 may themselves be pivoted at their lower ends to part of the tray and secured in adjusted position, e.g. by adjustable struts comprising two arms pivoted at their outer ends to the tray and tube respectively and formed at their inner ends with interengaging threaded portions to adjust the length of the struts. A cranked cross bar 17, pivotally mounted between the side walls 2 of the tray, is adjustably locked to engage the underneath of the typewriter so'that there is no tilting of the tray. The typewriter is secured in position by clamps 4 which engage the feet of the typewriter. The clamps are carried by blocks 4a having threaded engagement with rods 5 extending through the rear wall of the tray.
