Abstract
642,758. Furniture frames. ETABLISSEMENTS, H. ST.- MAURICE & CIE, and ST.- MAURICE, H. July 3, 1948, No. 17929. [Class 52 (ii)] A frame structure for armchairs, beds, or other furniture comprises the assembly of two forms of rigid frames the number of each frame depending on the frame structure required the assembly being made without the addition of separate connectors such as screws or the like. The first form 1 comprises two members 2, 3 connected .by cross members 4, 5 and the second form 6 comprises a tubular member 7 with bent ends 10, a parallel angle section member 8 the two members being rigidly connected by crossed strips 9. As shown in the case of an arm chair two forms 1 serve as side members and are fitted with arm rests 11, a back member 6 connects the two side members the bent ends 10 taking over the upper ends of the members 2 and projecting pins 12 on the member 8 entering apertures 13 in the members 2. The seat member also formed by form 6 is positioned horizontally the bent ends 10 fitting over the protruding ends 14 of the member 5 and the pins 12 entering the apertures 13 in the member 5. In addition a cross piece 29<SP>1</SP> fits by means of notches 34 at the junction of the members 2 and 5 of the form 1. Seating and back springs carried by frames are secured by hooks 14 on the members 7. Upholstery &c. may be laced in position.
