Abstract

727,542. Seats. MOFFETT & SONS, Ltd., and MOFFETT, S. June 11, 1953, No. 16070/53. Class 52 (2). The framework of an arm-chair &c. consists of a separate base with two arm frames and a back frame, the base extending the full width of the chair &c., and fitting closely within each arm frame. As shown, the base 1 is constructed as a rectangular box to the front of which is mounted a projecting portion 6 leaving recesses 7. The side arms 2 each comprise uprights 8, 9 interconnected by members 11, 12 and 10. The back portion 4 comprises a rectangular part with wings 16. Each part is upholstered and assembled so the uprights 8, 9 of the side arms bear against the front and rear of the base 1 and are secured thereto by screws 19. The back portion 4 is slid into position, along guides 13, between the side arms and secured by screws.
