Abstract

729,143. Seat frames. FINERTY, W. J. Aug. 21, 1953 [May 22, 1952], No. 12938/52. Class 52 (2). A one-piece construction of front leg, rear leg and arm-rest has secured thereto, at spaced points, a one-piece supporting member, with an upstanding portion, to carry the seat proper and a back rest. As shown at each side, a front leg 12, a rear leg 13 and an arm-rest 14 are formed by bending one strip of wood or metal, the arm-rest 14 preferably sloping downwardly towards the rear leg 13. The legs 12, 13 are recessed to enable the side members 15, 16 to be mounted by means of half-joints, the members 15, 16 being recessed at positions corresponding to those on the legs, and the parts secured by bolts &c. The side members 15, 16 are preferably curved members to which seat slats may be secured an intermediate member 24 being provided if desired.
