Abstract
641,963. Drying fabrics, DUNGLER, J. July 3, 1947, No. 17554. Convention date, July 26, 1946. [Class 34(i)] Wet fabric a is carried around one or more revolving perforated drums 2 by a permeable conveyer band 8 and the interior of the drum is supplied with dry unheated air under pressure which passes outwardly through the fabric to remove the moisture. The fabric is fed at a higher speed than that of the conveyer and passes in small folds without compression between the conveyer and drum. Air is preferably supplied through a hollow trunnion 4 and an adjustable internal false end 15 is fitted to the other end of the drum operable by a screwed shaft 17 to enable the effective length of the drum to be altered to suit the width of the fabric.
