[Class 51(ii)] In a gas fired muffle furnace for the enamelling of metals and the firing of ceramic ware, regenerators h, h<1> and burners g, g<1> are arranged for the reversible heating of the muffle a by means of flues b extending up the sides and over the top of said muffle, additional gas burners k being provided in the roof. Parallel sole flues c, c<1> with limbs d disposed in the back wall of the muffle, communicate with the regenerators by flues j, j<1> and with each other by a passage. l controlled by dampers m, each sole flue being fired by one of the burners g, g<1>.
