Abstract
641,272. Conveyers. CRAWFORD, R. H. Nov. 11, 1947, No. 29965. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group I] A root crop harvester (see Group I), comprises a lifting share C at the front of an elevator D which carries the crop to a transverse conveyer F. As the crop passes up the elevator D, earth is detached by an endless belt 24 having a loose weighted roller 27. A pulley (not shown) has arms which engage each link of the elevator D and raise it, subjecting the crop to a shaking and sieving action. The elevator D is constructed of a series of coupled links 18 and discharges onto a conveyer E which carries away the haulm and allows the potatoes to fall through onto conveyer F. The conveyer E consists of two endless chains 31 which are spaced apart and connected by rods 32.
