639,692. Warp stop-motions for looms. FISHER AKT.-GES., G. Jan. 16, 1948, No. 1471. Convention date, Nov. 29, 1947. [Class 142 (i)] The moving parts of a warp stopmotion are driven directly from the loom crankshaft and a movable toothed rack is moved in synchronism with the slay movement. The toothed rack 1 is reciprocated by a bell crank lever 4, 6, a rod 8 and a fork 10 operated from an eccentric 13 on the crankshaft 12. When a warp thread breaks, a dropper 44 locks the rack 1. The fork ceases to reciprocate and a stop 28 will not engage an arm 29 of a pawl 24, 29. Rotation of the eccentric oscillates a bell-crank lever 18, 20 having a nose 26, and when the arm 24 is not raised by the stop 28, the nose engages the arm 24 and rocks a lever 16 to stop the loom by means of a rod 31, lever 33, 35 and spring loaded plunger 37. The plunger actuates an arm 39 on the stop shaft 40. In an alternative construction, the stop shaft is operated by a rod which is moved by one arm of a bell crank lever actuated by the eccentric 13. When the loom is running, the rod is lowered beneath the arm of the bell crank lever and the stop shaft is not operated.
