639,079. Shearing. RERMAN TOOLS & PRODUCTS, Ltd., and FROST, A. F. Dec. 30, 1947, No. 34861. [Class 83 (iv)] Sub-press mechanism carries blades for cutting notches from the edge of sheet material or for cropping the material. A frame member 12 carries a triangular punch 66 on a spring-urged rod 70 co-operating with a die 40. On depression of the rod 70 by the press the punch 66 co-operates with the dies 40 to cut an angular notch in the sheet inserted under a stripper 80. Gauge pins 50 are inserted in bosses to position the sheet for notching the edge or for cropping along an edge. Shear blades.-The die 40 has two limbs in the form of straight blades independently mounted in the base 10. The longer limb is fixed by two screws and the shorter limb bears at its end against a conical screw that forces this limb endwise against the longer limb.
