[Also in Group VIII] A hand-operated shearing machine has a blade 7 co-operating with spaced blades 2. The blade 7, mounted on a shaft 10 swung by a handlever 12a or by a screw mechanism 18, 20 operated by a crank 22, has a cutting edge of semiparabolic form with a lug 7a engaging the blades 2 and constituting a limit stop. The angle between the cutting edge and the lug 7a forms a hold-down for the sheet. The blades 2 are adjustable laterally by screws 5, 6. A feed roll on a ratchet operated shaft below the base 1 may project above the base to feed the sheet. Specifications 541,479 and 567,943 are referred to.
