Abstract

1341920 Shearing INTERMENUA (PTY) Ltd 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970 2 March 1970] 22156/71 Heading B3W In a hand operated shear having a pivoted blade 3 and a fixed blade 7, a non-yielding table 10 is mounted adjacent the fixed blade in the path of the pivoted blade to support material in the path of the pivoted blade progressively as it is sheared. The height of the plate is adjustable, to locate its supporting face 11 at about the thickness of the plate to be cut below the cutting edge 9 of the blade 7, by means of bolts 13 and elongated slots 12 in the table. In an alternative embodiment the table is clamped between the fixed blade and a rebated plate and its height is adjustable by means of a wedge. The table may be of fixed height.
