A sawing machine for cutting a panel 4 lengthwise and crosswise comprises means for feeding the panel lengthwise through the machine for cutting lengthwise by circular saws 6, and a circular saw 9 for cutting the panel crosswise while the panel is held stationary. The feeding means consists of rollers 2, 3 for feeding the panel to the saws 6 which are mounted in a housing 5, the panel being pressed against the rollers 2, 3 by a roller 8. The panel is then held stationary while the saw 9 is moved to effect the crosswise cut. The saws may be located above or below the panel.
