597,450. Stretch bending. ENGINEERING & RESEARCH CORPORATION. Aug. 18, 1945, No. 21143. Convention date, March 27. [Class 83 (iv)] A stretch bending machine has means for severing the waste edges. A sheet 8 held in clamps 4, 6 is bent by a former 14 raised by a press 10. Shear blades 24 on a press-head 20 co-operate with rubber-filled grooves 32 in the former to shear the waste edges. In a modification, hand operated pivoted cutters on the former effect shearing.
