Abstract

638,950. Insoles. MIDGLEY, E. E., and MIDGLEY, D. March 1, 1948, No. 6453. [Class 17 (ii)] An insole comprises a single blank which is left at its full thickness over the heel seat area 5 but is reduced in thickness at the forepart 6, to increase the flexibility, and is skived along the line A to a thin edge 3 over the waist portion. An extension 2 may be provided to form a lateral arch support and a metatarsal pad 7 may be left at the full blank thickness. The blank is moulded to the desired shape and, if required, a metal shank stiffener is attached to the thick central part 4 of the waist.
