Abstract

637,426. Pivoting adjustments. LINES BROS., Ltd., and LINES, W. March 4, 1948, No. 6797. [Class 65 (ii)] The bars 2, 4 of a framework are pivotally connected together at 5 and are held in longitudinal alignment by a device comprising a channel-shaped member 7 adapted to embrace both bars in their position of alignment. The channel member is pivoted at 8 on a bracket 10 carried by the bar 4 and is urged to the embracing position by a coil spring 11. The sides of the channel member are sloped to form cam surfaces adapted to co-operate with the bar 2 in order to force the channel member to yield progressively when the bars are moved towards their aligned position. In a modification the channel member is mounted on one end of a leaf spring, the other end of which is anchored to the bar 4.
