Abstract
637,079. Seats. MOSS, D. G. K. May 31, 1948, No. 14717. [Class 52 (ii)] A folding deck chair comprises two rear members 1, 2 which, when opened out, form a back, two front legs 4 pivoted to the front ends of two lower side members 3 the rear ends of which are pivoted to the lower ends of the rear members 1, 2, further members 6 pivoted intermediately to the side members 3 and, at their upper ends, to upper side members 5 which are pivoted at their rear ends to the rear members 1, 2 at 9. The rear members 1, 2 may be pivoted together at the top or may be connected together by pivoted diagonals similar to the diagonals 8 connecting the front legs 4. The lower ends of the members 6 are provided with sockets or seats 7 upon or in which the front legs 4 rest when the seat is in operative position. A hammock seat 10 may be secured in position by hooks or carried by transverse members such as 11, 12 having apertures to take arm pintles such as 13, 14.
