638,848. Furniture combinations. SHARMAN, H. W. July 19, 1948, No. 19265. [Class 52 (iii)] A stool which is foldable to serve as a container for articles comprises two tray-like parts 1, 2 to serve as supports and interconnected by a lazy tong linkage 6, 7 and a flexible seat 16. The links 6, 7 are pivoted at their ends to strip members 11, 12 and reinforcing members 13, 14 secured to the sides of the parts 1, 2 the links 6, 7 being pivoted together at their intersection 8 and also provided with pivoted joints 9, 10. A strut 15 is provided to retain the stool in operative position and a fastening 18, 19 is provided for securing the container in closed position. Handles 20, 21 are provided.
