Abstract

765,831. Collapsible combined tables and seats. MANNSCHOTT, L. W. March 17, 1955 [April 17, 1954], No. 7860/55. Classes 52 (2) and 52 (3). In a collapsible combined table and seats, the seats being pivotally connected to table supporting struts 3 and the table being formed in two halves 1 pivotally connected together, the supporting struts 3 are U-shaped with one arm 3a pivotally connected to the underside of the table top and the other arm 3b similarly connected to the seat 4 near its front edge so as to be pivotable about the longitudinal axes of the limbs. The struts 3 can be arranged so that the closed limbs are on the same side of the table or at opposite sides and diagonally opposed corners. Articulated braces 5, 6 strengthen the assembly and legs 8, 9 foldable beneath the seats have foldable braces 10, 11, the seats being foldable to lie between the limbs 3a, 3b and the edges of the table top having carrying handles. Holders 16 for glasses, bottles &c. can be attached to the sides of the top. With a four seat construction the struts 3 are arranged in pairs at opposite ends of the table. Back rests for the seats have frame members 12 insertable into the rear end of the seat 4 and a web 13 of flexible material fixed to the outer rail of the frame is secured to the front edge of the seat by hook clips.
